Review

Muscle Building Nutrition is a great peice of work from one of the more respected authorities on building muscle and nutrition. This book is about building muscle. Make no doubt about it, Mr. Brink shows you how to put together a solid nutritional program that's designed to build muscle. If your into bodybuilding, strength training, powerlifting, or any other power sport that requires power, than you might want to read this book. Muscle Building Nutrition shows you how to calculate nutritional ratios designed specifically for your body weight and body type. Not only that, it has grade A nutritional supplement reviews, training programs, and a host of other great resources as well.

Generally, nutrition can be quite confusing. Everyone is different and we all need different combinations of foods for optimal growth given our age, genetics, exercise levels, and metabolism. In order to keep your body growing, you need to constantly feed it with the necessary nutrients that are conducive to building muscle. Foods that are conducive to building muscle include optimal amounts of carbohydrates, protein, fat, and vitamins and minerals.

Let me ask you a question, what do you think of when you hear the word dieting? Eating less? Losing weight? Today, there are so many innovative diet plans out there but very few of them are geared towards helping individuals gain size and strength. Most diets are geared towards losing weight that are tailored to people who are only concerned about losing that "spare tire" around their waist.

When most people think of dieting, they think of getting smaller. Yet, it's equally important that you diet to grow big. To expand your muscles, you need to always be aware of the foods you're fueling and feeding them with. Along with training and rest, proper nutrition is one of the three essential principles of optimal muscle growth. If you want to build size and power, you have to get your nutritional plan down. No question about it.

There is a small percentage of people out there who actually want to gain muscular weight. Whether you are a hard gainer, strength trainer, bodybuilder or just someone who wants to add a couple of pounds to your frame, gaining quality weight is just as important as losing weight.

Here's the problem. How do you structure a diet that is conducive to building muscle? What should you be eating? High protein, low carb? High protein, high fat? What amount of food should you be eating? This is what Will Brink's e-book is all about. It's about structuring pesonalized muscle building nutrition programs.

The first part of Muscle Building Nutrition covers the basics of nutrition. The reader is introduced to the macronutrients, protein, carbohydrates, and fat. Each nutrient is covered in great detail as to give the reader a complete understanding of each of these important elements. The goal of this section is to lay the foundation for proper nutrition that will increase lean body mass while minimizing increases in body fat. I really enjoyed this section because it was easy to read and had loads of useful information. Here's what's covered in section 1

The Macro-nutrients (protein, carbohydrats, and fat)

A detailed discussion of protein, carbohydrates, and fat. Will explains in a very easy manner why it's important to know the basics of what you are eating before you learn what you are eating.

Where does the food go?

Will explains the basics of how food is utilized in metabolism.

Calorie Calculations

Outlines how to calculate calorie intake for active people trying to gain lean body mass.

Macro-nutrient ratios

This section is a must if you want to structure a muscle building diet! Here Will shows you how to figure out how much protein, carbohydrates, and fat are needed and in what ratios for your individual requirements for gaining lean body mass. Mr. Brink also explains the effects of different macro-nutrients on the metabolism.

For those of you out there who have no clue about structuring a diet that builds muscle, than this section will help clear away most of your questions or concerns.

In the following chapters, Will covers intersting topics as:

Are High Protein Diets Bad For You?

The Glycerol Story

Will's Food Pyramid

Vegetarians vs Meat Eaters

The 30 Gram Rule Exposed - You'll get a kick out of this one!

The second part of Muscle Building Nutrition covers supplemental reviews. I found this section very interesting since Will spares no supplement in this review. What I noticed in this review was that Will backed up all his findings with scientific proof and studies. Marketing hype aside, these popular supplements have been seriuosly put under the scope! Supplement marketers beware!

His approach is both thorough and intense for the 29 or so popular muscle building supplements. I'd recommend Muslce Building Nutrition just for the supplement reviews! It's great! If your in the market for bodybuilding supplements, this e-book is a must. A real eye opener!

The third part of the e-book looks at mass training routines from world renowned strength coach, Charles Poliquin. I have to say, this was a fantastic section. Charles takes you through the principles necessary for building muscle and power. I especially enjoyed his explanation on how to determine the optimal training frequency for workouts. I can gaurantee you'll learn something new in this section, I know I did.

There are also sample mass training routines and programs for those of you who want to pack on the pounds.

Overall

Will Brink leaves no nutritional stone unturned in his e-book, Muscle Building Nutrition. If you're a bodybuilder, powerlifter, athlete, or a weekend warrior looking to build a muscle building nutritional plan, this e-book is a must.

Muscle Building Nutrition sells for $39.00 and is worth every penny.
